2020 Youth Football Camp

This year's Huskies Youth Football camp will be held Monday through Thursday, August 10 - 13 at Huskies Stadium and the OHS practice fields.  As in the past, camp will run from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm each night.  The camp is open to all athletes entering Grades 3 - 10 this fall.  

Players are divided into four different age groups.  Athletes entering 3rd through 6th grade are taught skills relating to every position as well as kicking and punting.  Athletes entering 7th through 10th grade choose an offensive and defensive position.The older age group swill practice at both positions.

Cost of the camp will be $80.

REGISTRATION WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 200 WHO SIGN UP. REGISTRATION MUST OCCUR THROUGH THE WEBSITE. NO WALK-UPS WILL BE ALLOWED THIS YEAR!

Huskies Camp Instructions and Guidelines

  • Athlete parking and drop off will occur in the Harriet Street Student Lot on the east side of the practice fields AND in the South Staff Lot on the west side of the stadium. 

  • Athletes will be screened for fever using a temporal thermometer, and will be questioned about experience of symptoms and close contact with someone with Covid-19. 

  • Any athlete whose temperature registers above 100.3 ℉, shows symptoms of illness, or who cannot answer “NO” to every screening question will be denied participation and sent home. A Coach will immediately call the Parent Contact listed on the registration form to inform them of the denial of participation.

  • If parents are dropping athletes off, they should remain in their cars. Parents should remain in the lot until their athlete is screened for participation in the event the athlete fails the screening and needs to be immediately sent home.

  • Upon entering the Stadium, athletes will move to their assigned pod areas and will observe six feet of social distancing from other athletes until camp begins. 

  • Only registered athletes will be allowed on the Stadium or Practice Fields. Parents who wish to observe will be asked to stay on the perimeter and observe social distancing of six feet.

  • Screening will begin 20 minutes prior to the start of camp. Please do not arrive more than 20 minutes prior to the start of camp.

  • Athletes must wear proper workout attire at all times. No sharing of clothing or towels is permissible.

  • Athletes must supply their own individual drinking water. No water will be available on site. No water will be shared between athletes.

  • A supervised Gatorade station will be utilized where coaches will distribute a cup of Gatorade to each athlete as needed. 

  • Restrooms will only be available in emergency situations and athletes must be accompanied by their group chaperone. If restrooms are utilized, athletes must wash and sanitize hands before returning to their group.

  • Use of masks by athletes is encouraged, but optional.

  • Use of gloves by athletes is recommended.

  • There will be no spitting or use of gum or sunflower seeds on site.

  • Athletes will be grouped in pods of 25 and  will maintain proper distancing when not participating in a drill.

  • Social distancing of 6 ft. during rest is mandatory.  

  • Athletes will sanitize hands at the start of the session, on a regular basis during camp, and at the end of the session.

  • All equipment will be sanitized between stations and at the end of each session.

  • Upon completion of the session, all athletes will immediately exit the field to the Harriet Street Student Lot or South Staff Lot and depart. There will be no congregating. If waiting for a ride, athletes must remain 6 feet apart. Parents must be prompt in picking up their athlete at the end of the session in order to minimize congregating.

  • Athletes are encouraged to shower and wash all workout clothing immediately upon returning home.

  • Notification of cancellation of a session will occur on Twitter (@huskiesfootball) by 5:00 PM if weather will not permit activity.

  • Any athlete NOT adhering to these policies will forfeit their ability to participate in Huskies Camp and no refund will be offered.
