Jon Weisbrod's weekly look at what happened with the Huskies in previous seasons.

MEMORIES & MOMENTS I Week 5

IN WEEK 5 OF THE 2015 SEASON, Owatonna senior Sam Hylle established a new single-game school record with seven rushing touchdowns in the Huskies’ wild 77-41 victory over Austin on the road. Hylle — who finished with an eye-popping 320 rushing yards for the game — found the end zone on runs of 1, 5, 24, 56, 10, 6 and 7 yards and held the record by himself until Jason Williamson tied the mark with seven rushing scores against Rochester Century in 2017.

AGAINST NORTHFIELD AT THE OHS STADIUM ON OCT. 12, 2018, the Owatonna defense stuffed the Raiders on the ground and surrendered negative rushing yards, ending Northfield’s three-game winning streak with a hard-fought, 29-11, victory. It wasn’t always pretty, nor was it easy — Owatonna trailed at halftime and was held to more than 100 yards below its season average — but the top-ranked Huskies didn’t allow a point in the second half and moved to 7-0.

ENTERING WEEK 5 OF THE 2017 SEASON, the Huskies owned a sparkling 4-0 record and averaged a staggering 54.5 points per game to open the season. They had surpassed 60 points twice and rang up what would be a season-high 70 points in a Week 3 blowout win over Austin. In Week 4, Owatonna routed winless Rochester John Marshall, 42-6.

ENTERING WEEK 5 OF THE 2012 SEASON, Owatonna was rolling and heading into a rivalry game against Faribault with an unblemished 4-0 record, knocking out Rochester Century in its most recent outing, 56-0, to collect its second shutout of the season in four weeks. The Huskies had also claimed a pair of marquee wins in the first half of the season, beating a strong Chanhassen team, 21-14, in Week 1 and state-ranked Rochester John Marshall, 30-19, in Week 3.
